Introducing Stripe: NitroPack’s New Payment and Subscription Management Systems

That’s the driving force behind NitroPack and the foundation of our decision-making process. 

And while it might seem that recently we’ve been entirely focusing on releasing new speed optimization tools (e.g., Font subsetting, Adaptive image sizing), the truth is:

We've been quietly putting in extensive effort behind closed doors to improve your user experience with NitroPack.

And more specifically – to make your subscription management process smoother and easier.

After months of hard work, we’re happy to introduce a new subscription management system handled via Stripe.

This is part of our ongoing commitment to guarantee you an enhanced experience, an upgraded billing system, and, most importantly - the best service possible. 

Let’s take a closer look at what benefits a Stripe-based account offers. 

From multiple subscriptions and billing periods to one unified account

You will agree that each service, solution, or tool you add to your business has to enhance its performance. 
That’s why when we first started building NitroPack, we wanted to develop an all-in-one solution that will:

  • Cut your costs by replacing all the other tools you might have.
  • Be a plug-and-play tool that can handle your site’s web performance on its own.
  • Save you time by applying all optimizations automatically. 

When building the new subscription management system, we wanted to apply this all-in-one mentality to provide you with a streamlined and easy-to-operate process.

The new system allows you to leverage some major improvements:

  • Single billing period. Stripe simplifies your account management process with a single billing period. This streamlines invoicing and budgeting, freeing you from laborious administrative tasks.
  • No more mixed subscriptions under one account. Along with introducing a single billing period comes the time to sunset mixed subscriptions. As part of our commitment to delivering user-friendly subscription management accessible to all, each Stripe-based account can have either monthly or yearly subscriptions. 
  • Fast checkout. Scale your subscriptions instantly. The new billing system requires you to enter your card details only once. Then, your information is saved, and all future purchases will go through our new two-click checkout. 
  • Enable Resource Overages on your own. With Stripe, you can single-handedly manage the "Resource overages" for your account. Easily select a desired monthly amount, and NitroPack will automatically allocate extra resources to the websites that require them the most. Keep serving fast pages at all times. 

In a nutshell, with the new subscription management system:

  • You will have a unified account with a single billing date for better management and budgeting.
  • You can scale your business by upgrading or purchasing new subscriptions in a few clicks.
  • You have complete control over your account’s Resource Overages, so you don’t have to worry NitroPack will stop optimizing your pages as you reach subscription limits. 

Why did we choose Stripe as our payment provider? 

When it comes to payment processing, Stripe has established itself as the leader in the industry, commanding the trust and admiration of countless big-name companies. 

Furthermore, opening our office in the US naturally led to our decision to enhance our offering and provide more payment opportunities for our customers.

What will happen with all FastSpring accounts?

The introduction of Stripe does not mean we’re moving away from FastSpring.

FastSpring is an established European leader and is essential to helping us grow internationally and handles everything around VAT and local payment options. 

We’re more than happy with our partnership and don’t plan to cut ties with them any time soon. 

So when it comes to all existing NitroPack accounts that use FastSpring - nothing changes. Their subscription will continue to be handled by FastSpring.

Apart from the subscription management changes, we also released a completely revamped interface of the NitroPack dashboard.
